Bucks fall to Brock in playoff thriller 34-27

The Breckenridge Buckaroos season came to a halt Thursday night with a 34-27 playoff loss to the Brock Eagles.

The Bucks will finish their season with a 4-7 record, placing fourth in their district and securing a playoff spot.

Despite the loss and broken hearts to accompany it, the game was a thrilling one to witness. It included a 21-point comeback by the Bucks in the second half, as well as several big plays from both sides and mistakes to match.

Area this week: forecast

Here is what is happening this week:

City commissioners to meet

The Breckenridge City Commissioners will meet for their normal meeting at 5:30 p.m. The agenda looks to be short, with four items on the consent agenda and a couple resolutions up for individual consideration. One item of note is a resolution that will allow for the city manager to apply for a Criminal Justice Division Grant.

Bucks fall to Brock 20-9, drop to 2-2 on season

The Buckaroos continued to struggle on offense Friday, against Brock on the road.

What looked to be a potential shootout early on settled down, as both teams scored quickly in the first quarter but struggled to find their way across the end zone again in the first half. For the Bucks, it would be the only time they would find the end zone all night.

Buckaroos overcome Comanche with late-game heroics

Resurgence was the key to the Buckaroos Friday night’s victory over the Comanche Indians.

The Breckenridge Buckaroos were able to right the ship and score 14 unanswered in the second half to win the ball game 14-7. This was all thanks to some late game heroics by quarterback Kevin Franco (5), who completed a deep pass to Aaryn Medina (6) late in the fourth quarter to go up by a touchdown, as well as stout defense throughout the night.
