Police Chief announces retirement

He has been apart of the City of Breckenridge for more than three decades, but the city Police Chief has officially announced his retirement to the Breckenridge City Commissioners.

Breckenridge Police Chief, Larry Mahan, announced in front of the commissioners in their Nov. 5 meeting that he will retire on January 31, 2020. “I just wanted to let you all know that I will be leaving after 21 years as Chief and 32 years total with the city,” said Mahan. 

“I just wanted to let you know that I have always had a very supportive — with a very few exceptions —I have always had a very supportive staff and a very supportive commission. I hope that the next person, that you will continue to support them as well as you have me for 21 years,” said Mahan.
