In addition to the Military Memorabilia Collection of Ricky Stober in the East Gallery, Beverley Boren has her individual exhibit, “Bev Boren,” in the Main Gallery that encompasses oil, watercolor and charcoal sketches.

Boren is a native Texan who now resides at Trophy Club with her husband, Ben, and is known as a prolific painter of both oil, watercolors and an occasional charcoal sketch. She is well-respected in the field of painters and has been the Juror for the Breckenridge Juried Art Show of 2018. Boren is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionists Society and the American Watercolor Society.

Her gift comes from her need to paint just as one needs to breathe. Her inspiration can come from whatever she is at the moment or at a planned area and is not confined to one type of medium, but is inclusive of oil, watercolors and occasional charcoal sketches and other mixed mediums. Nor is Boren restricted to one category such as landscapes, portraits or still life. She can create from anything that catches her eye at the moment, whether it be still life, a forest scene or a spark of a person’s personality. Painting in whatever medium she pursues is her way of connecting through her work to the people who surround her and share these experiences through her paintings.

Boren said, “Trying to describe or explain my efforts at painting or drawing in charcoal seems like such a futile effort. After all, I want my work to press itself without the necessity of words. My best hope is that my work will stand on its own merits and create conversations that will connect with viewers where words fail.”
