Burn ban lifted

Following large amounts of rainfall Friday, Oct. 28, Stephens County Judge Michael Roach rescinded the burn ban on outside burning in throughout the county.

A stipulation and request was made asking that anyone intending to plan and execute any type of outside burn- ing, please contact Stephens County Fire Department at 254-559-6242 to notify them of the time and location of the outside burning activity, with no fire being started if wind speeds are 15 mph or above.

In the order, Roach and the Commissioners’ Court expressed their gratitude for the firefighters, fire departments, and citizens of Stephens County who aided in alleviating the emergency condition of wildfires.
