Cattleman’s Roundup of the Heart coming Feb. 16

The annual Cattleman’s Roundup of the Heart Valentine event is slated for Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Breckenridge Woman’s Forum.

This is an opportunity to show your Valentine a special evening, while supporting a cause. Doors open at 6 p.m. for registration and to view the items available for the silent auction.

The tickets are $50 each and include a steak dinner with all the trimmings, served at 6:30 p.m. and prepared by the West Texas Rehab Center’s chuckwagon chefs.

After the dinner, the “Clear Fork Boys” will entertain for those who wish to dance or just listen to the music.

Additionally, there will be a raffle for two other special items.›One of the raffled items includes a .308 Weatherby Vanguard Sporter Wooden Stock Rifle. The other raffle items are four Atenti Totes.›Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $25 and can be purchased in advance by contacting Sheila Tonne at 254-559-4937 or Julie Calkins at 254-559-4435. There also will be time to purchase tickets for the raffle items at the dinner that evening.

This annual dinner/dance event benefits the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, which is a private, non-profit organization that began serving the people of the Big Country in 1953. From the very beginning, treatments or services provided out patient care, which now includes more than 600 children and adults on a daily basis. Last year, more that $22,000 was raised from this Valentine event.

The mission has always been the same to improve the lives of patients regardless of their ability to pay.

The WTRC is grateful for those who support events such as the Cattleman’s Roundup of the Heart, which helps to continue the mission. Heading up the event is the WTRC’s Roundup chairmen, Dr. Tom and Lisa Echols and Robert and Lisa Langford along with their committee members.

Support for this event includes neighbors in Shackelford, Young, Throckmorton, Palo Pinto and Stephens Counties.
