City accepts McComis’ resignation

After less than one year in the position, Breckenridge City Manager Erika McComis announced her resignation for the position. City commissioners accepted her resignation during a special meeting last Monday, June 13.

City authorizes application for downtown revitalization grant

The city of Breckenridge during their June 7 meeting authorized the submission of an application for a $500,000 Texas Community Development Block Grant through the Downtown Revitalization/Main Street Grant Program with the Texas Department of Agriculture. The board additionally determined an area of the city as slum and blighted to use funding from the grant, if awarded.

Deaton receives scholarship

Four high school years in the Woodson FFA Chapter has paid off for Woodson High School graduate Kylie Deaton. She was awarded the San Antonio Livestock Exposition Scholarship in the amount of $20,000. Deaton participated in ag mechanics, raising rabbits, community service, and in leadership through the FFA at the chapter, district, area and state levels. National Theater slowly making progress on repairs

A little more than one month after the severe thunderstorm and hail which caused damage to structures throughout the area, the National Theatre in Breckenridge is working to repair the damage done to the historical building.
