Sales tax up for city

The city of Breckenridge saw a significant increase in their sales tax payment this month, compared to the same month last year. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced Wednesday, Feb.

Texas history comes alive at BFAC

The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center is hosting Texas historic figures and art pieces downtown next Saturday. The Picketville Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will be in costume with live demonstrations to guide attendees through history at 2 p.m.

Fewer students at BISD, attendance drops in January

According to the latest report from Breckenridge ISD Superintendent Prairie Freeman, the total number of students from this point last year to now is down 25 students. The superintendent also said during the latest BISD School Board of Trustees meeting Monday, Feb.
