While the state of Texas experienced 0.7 percent increase in local sales tax allocations for February, Breckenridge can celebrate another month after exceeding last year’s dollars by 16.88%.

Gas prices sees largest weekly climb
Texas gas prices have risen 11.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.31/g today, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Gas prices in Texas are 21.3 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand 13.9 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

Power outages plague Stephens County, statewide with power being gradually restored
As the state of Texas experienced severe freezing weather with snow this past week, residents also lost power through many parts of the state for days.
Acts of kindness
On Monday morning, volunteers loaded cases of water for local residents brought in by the Texas National Guard late Saturday night for the many residents who did not have water after the winter storm last week. Storm was not all bad
After the initial storm there were remnants of large, cardboard boxes at the city park as a means to improvise as a sled to sled downhill. These kids participated in the traditional slide down the hill at the City Park that has been part of their parents’ lives and a generational ‘must’ for their children. Winter weather hits Texas counties
As cold weather hits Stephens County and throughout the state into this week, Gov. Greg Abbott issued a disaster declaration for all 254 counties in response to the weather impacting the state. The state deployed resources to local officials to assist in their response efforts.

Dixie Ducks out the Door … Darn it
I feel like I need to be writing an apology to the neighbors and the dog catcher … animal control lady. Let’s just get it out in the open. I’m not a very good dog mother. I have always thought I had the best dogs in the world. They were pretty. They were smart. They were well trained.
