Happy End of Principal’s Month to Mr. Brent Mills! Come to the Welcome Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5! Pork, tater salad, beans, dessert, tea, and raffles (50/50’s and RC quilts)! Donations accepted and appreciated and they go toward the new community center building. Thank you 4 th of July Committee! Go exercise your right to vote Tuesday, Nov. 8! Come to the Veterans Celebration at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 10:30 AM at the Old Gym Event Center! Honor our veterans and enjoy the assembly that our 7th and 8th graders have organized, and in which all of our kids play a part! Please enter through the floor level door by the cafeteria parking lot. Veterans, please, sign in there at 10 a.m., to register for the luncheon. If you know you are coming, please text or call Tacy Ellis at 254-522-5052! Thank you, Veterans! Cometothecounty Veterans Day Assembly in Throckmorton, at the school auditorium, at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day! I know the band will play and the kids will sing. Contact “Sarge” Carter for information. Again, thank you, Veterans! After finishing 2nd at district, Nicolas Romo edged past 8 others at the regional cross country meet last Tuesday, to finish 9th as an individual state qualifier! He’ll be running this weekend at the State Meet! Jack had a great run as well! Thanks coaches!

The Cross Country Cowgirls ended their season at the regional competition, one place out of qualifying forstateasateam. It was a great season, as they were district champs and won several meets! Way to go girls! Thanks, coaches! Thanks boosters and fans!

The Cowboys won their last game against Leuders Avoca on Friday. The boys are converting to basketball players as you read. Kolin Dalton, “the human bowling ball” according to our announcer, had a great final game. It was senior night and all cheerleaders and football seniors were recognized. Thank you coaches and players!

The junior high boys also won their game!! Way to finish strong! Thanks for all the effort!

How about those volleyball girls?! Playoffs began Tuesday night in Olney!

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Delaney! And to proud Woodson parents Pat and Gay Hibbitts! The wedding was lovely on Saturday!

The high school OAP kids practice from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays. Both cast and crew should be there.

The junior high kids meet on Wednesdays and Mondays immediately after school. Their community performance is Sunday, Dec. 4. Their school performance is at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, and their competitive performance is Tuesday, Dec. 6 in Newcastle.

We lost Linda Perry. I always looked forward to seeing her. It was always nice to be addressed by name and with a smile. I also knew I could count on her for an honest opinion. She was a bold and beautiful part of our county community and will be missed. Frank, we love you and you are in our prayers.

Take your clean, paired, gently used, or new shoes to Angela Miles, Hometown Hardware, FSB in Throckmorton, or to Higginbotham’s in Breckenridge. This is our Booster Club Fundraiser. When 2,500 pairs of shoes have amassed, Woodson will earn $1,000. We are close to 500 pairs on our “Shoe Meter.”

Thank you, to all donators of towels and bleach! She has a pickup bed full to hall to the wildlife rehab center for her 4-H service project. Thanks so much!
