Happy birthday Mayor Mathiews. I hope you get more rain.

Happy birthday Linda Northam. Happy birthday Delora Hibbitts. Happy birthday Mark Blevins.

Homecoming is coming. Call the school at 940-345-6521 if you have a 3-year-old through Pre-K student, who would like to be an escort for the coronation. Call and be on the pie or candy list. Call if you have a parade entry. Make these calls by Sept. 21. Homecoming weekend is Sept. 28 and

29.

On Homecoming weekend, the First Baptist Church will host the Fifth Quarter. Thank you FCC for hosting Sept. 14.

The volleyball girls have done well against Ranger and Strawn.

Our Cowboys were home on Sept. 14 but head to Newcastle Sept.

21. Don’t forget the Fifth Quarters. Next home game is Sept. 27.

The junior high volleyball girls played well against Ranger. Next they will face Newcastle and then be a part of the Hawley Tournament.

The junior high football season began against Trent, followed by Newcastle here on Sept. 20.

The egg drop was great fun at the high school. The students yolked as much time as possible from the event, with 5 eggs making it to the highest drop, which was off the building.

The West Texas Fair was a success. Danna Miller placed third and fourth with her goats. Hanna Miller placed ninth with hers. Landon and Kiki Buse did a great job exhibiting. Claire Ellis placed seventh with her heifer.

Marley Boyd had a booth for her business (Little Bean Boutique) at the rodeo. Hope it was successful.

Please continue prayers for June and Arliss, Lee Cannon, Alene (who finally has a doctor appointment next week), Vicki Carruthers, Minerva Whitfield, Otis Hibbitts, Kay and Teddy Clark, Bruce and Keron Kinyon, Jeanie Stoker, Novella Gilbreath, Pam Allen, Mae and Keith Boyd, Dee and Carolyn Tate, Arie Herring, Jean Brockman, Alex and Marilyn Dickie, Barbara and LB Atkinson, Bill Thompson and Treon, Linda Dean, Modelle Ellis, Don Kuykendall, David Baxley, Baby Jarett, “Aunt Lola,” and Charlene and Odell Kite.

Please pray for our school, educators, students, community, county, all military and our nation.

Keep praying for rain. Pastor Jeremy Smith spoke for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) on Wednesday a.m. on Sept. 12. Thanks.

The 4H Meeting was well attended on the Sept.

11. The next meeting is October 11, at 6 p.m. in Throckmorton at the Methodist Church. Nov. 8, the meeting is back in Woodson. Sign up on line or at the office.

The next Fifth Sunday Gospel Singing is 6 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the First Baptist Church of

Throckmorton. A nice way to slow down after homecoming.

And, the Woodson Grocery is open until 6 p.m. and Wednesday until 8 p.m. Still sorry about the mistake.
