Woodson News: Thankful for those who work hard

Wed, 11/18/2020 - 5:00 am

The Woodson Junior High Thespians put on their play, “Once Upon a Playground,” on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. About 50 community members attended. We laughed and we were amazed at the magic on the stage, where after only three weeks of practices, the kids performed so well. Thanks for your hard work!

Those involved in the play were: Logan Franklin as Wanda Bunn, MacKenzie Cloud as Dixie, Britton Bellah as D.D., Nicolas Romo as Tootie, Noah Leverton as Georgie, Elizabeth Singleton as Forda, Dan Mills as Flirt, Claire Ellis as Pheobe, Kiki Buse as the Girl, and Caleb Valentic as the Boy. Baylee Gray and Ra-Chelle Singleton were the 8th grade crew members and were responsible for costumes, props, makeup, and making sure lights and sound did their job. The seventh graders involved were John Gilmore – lights, Jack Sullivan – sound, Jaycee Bordelon – understudy for the Girl, Chris Overton – understudy for the Boy, Kaysen Smith and Mia Hewlett were alternates, and Gabriella Herring was the stage manager shadow, so she’ll be ready for next year.

Dessert was provided by helpful mothers. Thanks to everyone involved.

The Woodson FFA hosted the District LDE Contest – with around 30 schools participating, Woodson FFA members advanced in all their contests except two. This means that they had first or second place in each of those contests. So proud of them and so thankful for all of their hard work.

If you haven’t received your Fresh Country order of meat or sweets, let your sales rep know. Fruit will be here in December.

The junior high girls lost their game on Friday by 10 points, but were down further than that at one time, so they did well. The junior high boys won their game by one point. It was exciting. The high school Cowgirls, fell to Munday, during their game. All the athletes are working hard to play their best.
