Stephens County has moved to stage five of the community health plan in an effort to combat the COVID-19 virus within the community. The announcement came during a Friday, July 17 press conference and follows Gov. Greg Abbott’s recently released executive order, GA-29.
Stephens Memorial Hospital District will look into providing citizens with rapid result testing for the COVID-19 virus. The testing option was discussed during the Thursday, July 16 board of trustees meeting.
Stephens Memorial Hospital officials confirmed seven new positive/ active cases of the COVID-19 virus within the community. While eight cases of the virus have recovered, as of Monday, July 13, the total number of positive cases has moved to 15.
