Stephens Memorial Hospital unveils nuclear lab

The Stephens County Memorial Hospital unveiled their new Nuclear Medicine Lab Thursday afternoon with a couple representatives on hand to explain the benefits of the technology.

Nuclear Medicine Specialist Ambar Paranjape and Regional Vice President James Avery for Heart Care answered questions for those stopping by to see the new facility. Paranjape said the differences between this and other tests, such as an x-ray, are stark.

School board meets and announces students of the month, receives gifts for Board Appreciation Month

The Breckenridge ISD School Board met for their regular meeting Monday, Jan. 14 and conducted their normal business, including student of the month, collection reports and staff appreciation. They also extended BISD Superintendent Tim Seymore’s contract through 2021 and received presentations from each of the schools in honor of School Board Appreciation Month.

BISD releases perfect attendance and A/B Honor Roll for third six weeks

The Breckenridge ISD has released their list of students who had perfect attendance, as well as who was on the A/B Honor roll for the third six weeks.

Boil water notice for multiple parts of Breckenridge

A boil water notice was put in place Monday, Jan. 14 for West Walker South and from South rose to South Douglas, as well as South Cutting Cottage Power Parish Valley Aberdean, according to a release from the city.

Due to a water line break from construction, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the system to notify all customers within the specified block to boil their water for at least two minutes prior to consumption, according to the release.

Boil Water Notice for 600-700 Blocks of W Elm

A boil water notice was put in place for the 600 through 700 blocks of West Elm Street, effective Jan. 13, according to a release from the city.

Due to a water line break from construction, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the system to notify all customers within the specified block to boil their water for at least two minutes prior to consumption, according to the release.
