Local man dies in wreck on FM 2231

A Breckenridge man died late last Tuesday, March 18 in a single-vehicle rollover. A preliminary investigation by Texas DPS revealed Rodger Yoes, 38, was traveling north on FM 2231, 2.5 miles southeast of Breckenridge.

Softball field to get upgrades

The Lady Bucks softball field will soon receive some upgrades according to an update by the athletic director. Athletic Director Casey Pearce announced at the last Breckenridge ISD school board meeting that the softball field at North Elementary School will be receiving upgrades to be completed following their season.

Voter registration deadline next week

A little over one week remains to register to vote in the upcoming May local elections. The Breckenridge City Commission and Stephens Memorial Hospital Board will have contested elections in May.

BISD to appoint place 3 trustee

The Breckenridge ISD Board of Trustees recently voted to cancel the May 3 election as there are no opposed positions. The vote occurred at the board’s meeting Monday, March 17 and they will now appoint someone to Place 3 trustee with no one filing to run for the position previously held by Roy Russell.
