The proceeds raised from the Sloan Everett Pure Country Pedal Memorial Bike Ride were presented to local volunteer fire departments Thursday, Dec. 12 at Breckenridge City Park. The annual bike ride honors the memory of Sloan Everett, who died in the 2017 Panhandle wildfires. This year the ride raised a total of $42,961.80. The funding was split into three checks for $14,320.60 benefiting Caddo VFD, Hubbard Creek VFD and Wayland VFD.

Breckenridge ISD is calling past Buckaroo Queens and Great Lord Chamberlains to secure their place at the 100th coronation ceremony and lend any iconic pieces for the community tradition. The 100th Coronation of the Buckaroo Queen ceremony will be held at 7 p.m.

The following cases were pleaded in the 90th Judicial District Court in November:

• Michael Jacob-Lynn Aldridge, 32, of Breckenridge, pleaded guilty to the offense of Aggravated Assault Against Public Servant, and was sentenced to 10 years community supervision, and was ordered to pay $2,500  ne and court costs.

Aldridge also pleaded guilty to the offense Evading Arrest or Detention with Previous Conviction, and was sentenced to 10 years community supervision, and was ordered to pay court costs and restitution.

Downtown Breckenridge was merry and bright Saturday, Dec. 14 during the annual Christmas parade. is year’s theme was Rockin’ Around Walker Street. is year’s winners of the parade were Graham Savings & Loan (1st place), TDCJ Walker Sayle Unit (2nd place), and Stephens County Cowboy Church (3rd place).

After multiple injuries stemmed from a playoff football game in November, Sacred Cross EMS gave an update to the Stephens County Memorial Hospital Board of Directors this month calling for change. To address an aging mammography machine, the Stephens Memorial Hospital Board of Directors this month approved the purchase of a new 3D machine from Fujifilm. Now former SMH CEO Brian Roland gave an update on the new and existing machine during the board meeting held Thursday, Dec.
