Early voting for the general election ends on Friday, Nov. 4, with the closely watched governor’s race pitting incumbent Gov. Greg Abbott against challenger Beto O’ Rourke headlining the ballot. A number of other statewide races are on the ballot, including lieutenant governor, attorney general, land commissioner, agriculture commissioner and comptroller.
The city of Breckenridge will see another increase in sales tax returns this month from the same period a year prior. These allocations are based on sales made in August by businesses that report tax monthly.

The annual Wags and Whiskers 5k and Furry Fun Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Breckenridge City Park, located at 601 E.
Texas State Technical College (TSTC) Welding Technology instructor Stephen Hope and his students have been chosen by the Breckenridge Downtown Development Council (BDDC) to weld four new welcome signs for the city of Breckenridge. A sign will be placed at each of the city’s four entrances.
The annual Stephens County Health Fair will be held this Saturday, Oct. 22 from 7 to 11 a.m.
Early voting will begin next week for the November General Election. On the ballot will be races for federal, state and local seats in Stephens County.
Breckenridge City Commissioners voted Tuesday, Oct. 11 to approve a local option election for the legalization of the sale of all alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages, within the city of Breckenridge. The election is set to be held Saturday, May 6, 2023.
