Labor Day Gas Prices Lowest Since 2004; GasBuddy Reveals a 19% Drop In Amount of “Labor” Needed to Fill Up the Tank

Gasoline prices this Labor Day are set to be the lowest since 2004 according to GasBuddy, the travel and navigation app used by more North American drivers to save money on gas. The company predicts a national average of $2.19 per gallon, down nearly 37 cents from last year and the lowest priced Labor Day since 2004’s $1.82 per gallon average.

Breckenridge economy, surrounding towns doing well overall

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $908.7 million in local sales tax allocations for August, 3.6 percent more than in August 2019. These allocations are based on sales made in June by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in April, May and June by quarterly filers.

City to receive assistance from firm in locating new city manager; sets proposed property tax rate

The Breckenridge City Commissioners approved an agenda item to allow Strategic Government Resources to assist in locating a new city manager. The decision came during the special Monday, August 17 meeting, inside the Breckenridge City Offices Chamber.
