Malcolm Bales 

Malcolm Bales, 95, of Breckenridge, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 14 in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Remembering the life of Johnny Ray Lewis

Johnny Ray Lewis, 19, passed from this life to the next on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Wooten Arena, 1298 FM 287, in Breckenridge. Interment followed at Breckenridge Cemetery. The family received friends at the Bethany Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17.

Lewis was born on Oct. 6, 1998 in Graham to John Paul Lewis and Shawna Johnson Lewis. He graduated from high school in Abilene and loved the cowboy way of life and ranching.

Ashton Jones

Our angel has left us way too soon, Ashton Jones, age 17 of Breckenridge, died Dec. 1, 2017. A reflection of her precious life was held, Tuesday, December 5, at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Charles West and J.C. Burt officiated. Interment will follow in Necessity Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 4 at Morehart Mortuary.

Benjamin Luke Davis

Gone much sooner than we ever wanted, Ben Davis, age 20 of Breckenridge, died on Thursday, November 23, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 26, at Bethany Baptist Church with Mark Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday Nov. 25, at Morehart Mortuary.

Dorothy Tosh

Dorothy Tosh, age 90 of Breckenridge, passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017. A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 20 at Necessity Baptist Church with Tyler Looper officiating. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary

Jack Bryan Jones

The last of the Jones boys passed away peacefully at his home in Denton on Nov. 3, 2017 at age 88. He was surrounded by his wife of 60 years, “M,” and his two daughters, Bryanne and Kathy. Jack Bryan Jones was born Oct. 9, 1929, in Dublin, Texas, and was a star athlete in high school and during his college years, was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Tarleton State University for playing football. He graduated with a degree in geology from Midwestern University, where he met and married a young nursing student, “M” Tunnell.

Lena Margrett McKenzie

Lena Margrett McKenzie, age 82 of Breckenridge passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18 at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Cal Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow in the Wayland Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17 at Morehart Mortuary.
