Willene Fambrough, age 98 of Breckenridge, passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18 at Necessity Baptist Church with Rev. Charles West and J.C. Burt officiating. Interment will follow in Necessity Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17 at Morehart Mortuary.

BRECKERNRIDGE— Nancy McCabe, age 61 of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017. A memorial service were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 12 at Gunsight Baptist Church with Rev. Rex Boggs and Rev. Charles Kuhn officiating. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

BRECKENRIDGE— Lora Williams, 90, of Breckenridge, passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2017. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 25 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Justin Gandy and Pastor Andy Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow in the Necessity Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 24 at Morehart Mortuary.

Donald Larry Plott

Donald Plott, age 88 of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017. Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 12th at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Charles Kuhn officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 11 at Morehart Mortuary.

Olan "Cotton" Estus Kinnard

BRECKENRIDGE— Olan “Cotton” Kinnard, age 87 of Breckenridge, passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 2 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Don Bearden and Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Graceland Cemetery in Jermyn under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Rolly David Grounds

Rolly David Grounds
Rolly David Grounds passed away unexpectedly July 10, 2017 in Braselton, Ga., at the age of 75.
“David” is survived by his children, Rodney and Melissa Grounds; brother, Ben Grounds; daughter in-law, Lana Grounds and grandchildren, Dane, Jace and Marley Grounds. David is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Kay Grounds.
David was born Aug. 31, 1941 in Ranger, to Dudley and Christine Grounds of Caddo. David graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1959 and then attended college at East Texas State University.

Aletha Ann Vanslyke

Aletha Ann Vanslyke, 86, died Saturday, July 1, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 6, at 10 a.m. at the Lighthouse Church. Interment will follow in Breckenridge Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday. Arrangements under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. 

Aletha Ann Stephens was born Jan. 7, 1931 in Stephens Count, to J.C. Stephens and LaVerda LeVier Stephens. She married Preston Vanslyke on June 7, 1965 in Breckenridge. She was a homemaker and member of the Lighthouse Church.

Verdia Joyce Huckaby

Breckenridge-Verdia Joyce Huckaby, 93, died Saturday, July 8, 2017 in Ennis. Funeral service with Father DeWayne Adams officiating were held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 2PM in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment followed in Breckenridge Cemetery. 

Verdia Joyce Stagnerwas born on July 20, 1923 in Ranger to James Monroe Stagner and Winnie Elizabeth Pearson Stagner. She married Richard Cletus Huckaby and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the People’s Church and had worked for Pates Cleaners. 

Lura V. Dennington Redden

MORAN – Lura V. (Dennington) Redden, 97, of Moran died Monday, June 19, 2017 in an Eastland care center. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at the Moran Community Center, with Matthew Reagles officiating, under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation was from 12:30 until 2 p.m. on Thursday, prior to the service, at the Moran Community Center. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery.

Bernard Ray Killman

Bernard Ray Killman, 88, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at a local care center, with his loving son by his side.
A memorial service may be planned for a later date.
Bernard was born Oct. 12, 1928 in Throckmorton, the younger of two sons born to Henry and Addie Hill Killman. After graduating high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict.
