John Harvey Richey Jr. 

John Richey, 77, passed from this life to the next Monday, April 30, 2018. Funeral service with Rev. Rex Boggs officiating will be held Thursday, May 3, at 1:03 p.m. at Gunsight Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. 

Eddie G. Hunt 

Eddie G. Hunt passed away April 19, 2018. There will be no services.

He was born in Amarillo to Flo and Perry Hunt. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam for two years. 

Hunt married Julia Mae Cole on Feb. 19, 1971. They moved to Breckenridge in 1980.

He was a master electrician for J&J Electric for approximately 30 years.

LeEtta Hill 

LeEtta Hill, 84 passed from this life to the next Monday, April 16, 2018. Funeral service with Rev. Glenn Clark officiating was Sunday, April 22, at 2 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Albany Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday, April 21, from 6-7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

LeEtta Novian was born Oct. 25, 1933 in Merkel, to Barnum Ray Novian and Mary Irene Rhodes Novian. She married J.H. Hill April 28, 1951 in Albany. 

Verna Huffman Blue 

Verna Huffman Blue, 90, of Breckenridge, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 21 at Gunsight Baptist Church, with Rev. Rex Boggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 20 at Morehart Mortuary.

Verna Mae Huffman was born April 14, 1928 to parents, Carl Lee Huffman and Maybelle Durossette Huffman. She grew up in Eliasville and attended school until eighth grade. 

Keaton Kramer

Keaton Kramer, 26, of Woodson, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 12, at First Baptist Church of Woodson with Pastor Pete Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodson Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

John T. Walker 

John T. Walker was welcomed into Heaven’s arms on Friday, April 6, 2018. He was here with us for 87 years and passed peacefully at his Breckenridge ranch, surrounded by family.

Visitation was Saturday, April 7, at Morehart Mortuary in Breckenridge, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, followed by a military graveside service in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Ozell Henry Devenport 

Ozell Henry Devenport passed away April 1, 2018 in Graham. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at the Grace Baptist Church in Graham with interment following at the Breckenridge Cemetery in Breckenridge, under the direction of McMillan-Satterwhite Funeral Home.

Devenport was born Aug. 30, 1931 in Caddo. He was a retired cattle rancher and Stephens County Commissioner.

Trevor Allen Batek 

Trevor Allen Batek passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 26 at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Michael Roach officiating.  Interment followed in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Trevor was born March 22, 2018 in Weatherford, to parents, Nathan and Amanda Batek.  

Judy Nichols

Judy Nichols, 63, of Breckenridge, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018. Her family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

David Vern ‘Butch’ Spencer 

David Vern “Butch” Spencer, 80, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 11 a.m. at Morehart Mortuary Chapel.

David Vern “Butch” Spencer was born Feb. 22, 1938 in Breckenridge to John Walter and Theodotia Hood Spencer. He was born in the front bedroom of the family home at 911 E. Hullum. When he was born, his brother John suggested he be named “Butch” after a character from a comic strip and it stuck with him the rest of his life.
