The 2022 summer edition of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football predicts the Buckaroos to finish third in District 3-3A Division I.
During their regular meeting Monday, June 13, Breckenridge ISD approved the hiring of Cyndi Herrera to head the Lady Buckaroo’s softball program.
Breckenridge graduates Isaak Eutimio and Chad Wilcox represented the Buckaroos one final time Saturday night in Iowa Park. Both football players participated on the West Texas All-Stars, who were defeated by the East Texas All-Stars 42-14 in the Maskat Shrine Annual Oil Bowl Classic.
Breckenridge is represented by two Lady Buckaroos volleyball teams at this month’s Graham Summer Volleyball league. Both team will play at least two games at Graham High School June 13, 20 and 27. The first official day of practice for the 2022 season is Monday, Aug.1.
Six Breckenridge athletes and two Breckenridge High School coaches participated in the 2022 Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-Star Festival. The event took place June 2-11. In the all-star football game, Athletic Director and football coach Casey Pearce was chosen to coach the Blue Team, and was joined by Isaak Eutimio (top photo) and Chad Wilcox. Tyler Valdez played for the Red Team. Anthony Kelly coached the North Team in softball, and was joined by Elena Arellano. Savannah Fade (center, bottom photo) represented BHS in cheerleading.
Honors for District 7-3A softball were announced at the end of May. Seventeen Breckenridge Lady Buckaroos received honors for the 2021-2022 season.
For only the third time in school history, the Breckenridge Buckaroos 7on7 football team will be heading to the state tournament. The Buckaroos earned a tournament bid Saturday at the Ponder 7on7 Tournament at Northwest High School in Justin.
Breckenridge ISD will host a retirement celebration for multiple retiring district employees next week. The event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 18 at the Administration Office, located at 208 N. Miller Street.
Woodson High School’s Hanna Miller (left) brought home a gold medal in the triple jump event, with a jump of 38-0.00, from the UIL State Track and Field Meet last weekend. Also competing in the state meet was the WHS girl’s 4x400-meter relay team (below), which includes Keirsten Buse, Claire Ellis, Miller, and Elaina Harris. The team placed ninth, and was the first girls team in the school’s history to compete at the state level. Contributed photos
Breckenridge High School has set the dates for its summer strength and conditioning sessions. Athletic Director Casey Pearce sent an email Sunday stating there will be no workouts the first week after school ends.
