Three boys lifters to state powerlifting meet

The Buckaroos are sending three powerlifters to the state meet following their performances at the Boys Regional Powerlifting Meet at Decatur High School Tuesday, March 4. The three boys to earn state qualifier positions, out of 15 lifters, were Lesavier Gutierrez, Jack McKay and Nathan Roberts.

Clutch hitting carries Lady Bucks to walk-off

The Lady Bucks (67-1, 2-0) held a 5-2 lead going into the top of the seventh inning, looking to close out a win in their District home opener Friday, March 7 against the Tolar Lady Rattlers (87, 1-1). But then the wheels began to come off as the Lady Rattlers nearly batted around and tied the game with two outs in the inning.

Lady Bucks go 1-1 in tourney

The Abilene Icebreaker tournament went off Saturday, Feb. 22 after bitter cold weather canceled the games Thursday and Friday. The Lady Bucks (2-4-1) played two games in the shortened tournament and split the two, winning 3-2 against Haskell (0-2) and losing 14-4 against Clyde (6-2).

Smalley named to 2nd Team All District

The 2024-2025 District 8-3A All-District awards were announced last week and seven Lady Buckaroos received recognition. Senior Karsyn Smalley was named to 2nd Team All-District after a season in which she recorded 220 points, 126 rebounds, 39 assists, 60 steals and six blocks.
