Lady Bucks drop game to Early, 64-43

After a slow start in which they didn’t score until nearly five minutes into the game Friday, the Lady Bucks were able to keep it close at halftime as they trailed 28-20 to the Early Longhorns. Karsyn Smalley was the facilitator, as she has been all season, leading the Lady Bucks with 17 points, which included a three-pointer in the fourth quarter.

Buckaroos win two straight on road

The Breckenridge Buckaroos (13-13, 5-3) returned to .500 on the season with back-to-back road wins Friday, Jan. 17 against the Tolar Rattlers (8-17, 3-4) and Tuesday, Jan. 21 against the Eastland Mavericks (2-19, 1-7).

Against the Rattlers, the Bucks held the most of the game before falling behind in the closing few minutes. A late shot by junior Chance Stewart put the Bucks back in the lead, 40-39. The defense came up with a stop to put them in position to close out the game.

Bucks battle in close loss to Comanche

Led by a strong offensive output from junior shooting guard Joseph Juneau, the Breckenridge Buckaroos (11-13, 3-3) fought hard against the Comanche Indians (4-13, 4-2) in what was a highly contested and physical game at home Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Lady Bucks struggle to contain Maidens

The Comanche Maidens (14-6, 8-0) remained undefeated in 3A Region I District 8 play as they gave the Breckenridge Lady Bucks (2-24, 1-7) a lot to deal with in a 74-28 defeat Tuesday, Jan. 14.

Buckaroos fight, fall to Greyhounds

The Breckenridge Buckaroos fell to Peaster at home, 50-31 on Saturday, January 11, after last week’s snow storm pushed the games back a day. The girls dropped their contest, 33-28, before the boys lost, 50-31.

Lady Bucks drop close game to Peaster

The Breckenridge Lady Bucks dropped a back-and-forth contest to the Peaster Lady Hounds at home, 33-28 Saturday, January 11, after last week’s snow storm pushed the game back a day. The Lady Bucks started off strong as they got off to an early lead, 8-4 after a quarter of play and 16-10 at halftime.

Lady Bucks fight in win over Dublin

There were times Friday where the Lady Bucks could have given up and called the game, but their determination pushed them forward in a fourth-quarter onslaught that brought a 46-40 victory. After being down at the end of the third quarter by three points the Lady Bucks were motivated to push for a win Friday, Jan.
