Charlene Meccico, 86, of Abilene, passed away Thursday, Nov. 4. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 in the Breckenridge Cemetery, with Larry Briley officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Charlene Vernell Miller was born Feb. 20, 1935 in Waldrip, Texas to parents Arthur S. Miller and Aileen Cowan Miller. She went to school in Borger and was a member of the Borger High School class of 1952. On Nov. 24, 1978, Charlene married Elliot “Mitch” Meccico in Towson, Md. She worked as a technical writer at Sikorsky Helicopters for several years. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Aileen Miller; and her husband, Elliot Meccico.

She is survived by four children, Connie Sanders, Mary Chamberlin, both of Abilene, David McMullan and wife Dennisa, of Caddo Mills, and Donna Ball of Palmdale, Calif.; one brother, Arlie Miller and wife Ann, of Breckenridge; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
