Bucks fall in bi-district

A roller coaster of a season came to an end for the Breckenridge Buckaroos on Friday, Nov. 11. Looking to win their first playoff game since 2016, the Buckaroos fell short against the Paradise Panthers. The Buckaroo’s 8-3 season ends after a 47-7 loss to the Panthers in the bi-district playoff at Ponder High School. The Buckaroos were riding high as they entered the district schedule in October. After winning fivestraight games, the Buckaroos opened the district schedule with a 42-0 win against the Hawks at Iowa Park. Entering the following week’s game at Vernon, the Buckaroos were ranked No. 6 in Class 3A Division I and looked as if they could upset Jim Ned for a district championship.

Buckaroos celebrate seniors with blowout victory

Not long ago, the Breckenridge Buckaroos went from being a state-ranked football team to searching for answers following backto- back district losses. After feeling like they let two games slip away, the Bucks fought back to earn a second- place district finish with a win Friday, Oct. 28 at Bowie and closing the season with a 50-20 senior night home win Friday, Nov. 4 over the Clyde Bulldogs.
