City continues negative sales tax trend

The city of Breckenridge experienced a negative trend in sales for March with a decrease in collections from the same period last year. These allocations are based on sales made in September by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in July, August and September by quarterly filers.

It was a passion for local newspapers that drove Roxanne Montoya to seek another position in the industry and what led to her next adventure at the Breckenridge American. Montoya previously worked for four years at Alpine Avalanche in Alpine, Texas and for five months remotely for the Hernando Sun in Brooksville, Florida.

Back in the saddle: Montoya takes over Breckenridge American

It was a passion for local newspapers that drove Roxanne Montoya to seek another position in the industry and what led to her next adventure at the Breckenridge American.

Montoya previously worked for four years at Alpine Avalanche in Alpine, Texas and for five months remotely for the Hernando Sun in Brooksville, Florida. 

After most recently working as a Spanish interpreter for clients such as health care, 911, first responders, education, government agencies and more, she felt the call to return to local newspapers.
