Bucks use first-half run to cage Tigers

Two minutes isn’t a long time in the scheme of things. It meant a night and day difference for both Breckenridge and Jacksboro, however.

Tied at 28 following a dunk by Jacksboro’s Kyler Kenvin with 2:19 to go in the first half, the visiting Buckaroos closed the half on a 10-0 run. Breckenridge then used the talents of Aaryn Medina and Tristan Garcia to pull away in the second half of a 71-49 romp at Tiger Gym.

Jacksboro slips to 2-4 in District 7-3A and 8-8 overall. Breckenridge goes to 5-1 and 17-5.

Jacksboro Tigerettes rout Breck’s Lady Bucks

Maintaining a balance offensively and defensively can take some doing.

Jacksboro held visiting Breckenridge without a first quarter point Jan. 21 and scored just six points itself. Both squads cranked up the offensive intensity over the final three frames, but the Tigerettes held Breckenridge to just 23 percent shooting as Jacksboro opened the second round of District 7-3A play with a 55-34 win.

Jacksboro goes to 6-2 in district and 14-14 overall while Breckenridge drops to 3-5 and 19-8.

Lady Bucks fall to top ranked Brock Lady Eagles

The Lady Bucks 3-3 record in District 7-3A faced off against the Brock Lady Eagles, who sits at the top of District 7-3A with a perfect 6-0 record. It was obvious from the very beginning that the Lady Bucks were intimidated by the Lady Eagles who has run right over the other district teams.

“Brock is always a tough contest, their well-coached and they bring everything they got to the floor,” said head coach Chris Robertson.

Undefeated Buckaroos clash with undefeated Eagles

The Breckenridge Buckaroos were sitting at 4-0 in District 7-3A, and went up against the undefeated Brock Eagles Friday evening on the home court. Unfortunately, the Bucks came out on the low end of a 47-65 score.
Then there was the Eagle player who let loose on a rampage of scoring from anywhere on the floor in the last half of the fourth quarter. The Bucks definitely missed one of their players who is a prolific shooter, Gerardo Palacios, who was getting a broken nose adjusted.
