United Fund kicks off new campaign

It is that time of year once again when the United Fund Board of Directors swings into action and begin their annual fund-raising campaign in support of a variety of local organizations in Stephens County, which focuses on the young people, seniors, the animal shelter and many other service type organizations in the community.

Bean and Cornbread contest at Trade Days next week

The city of Breckenridge will be hosting a Bean and Cornbread contest on Saturday, Oct. 20.

The contest is open to all and there will be three categories, which are booth decoration, beans and cornbread.

The competition is set to kick off at 9:30 a.m. in the Trade Barn at the Breckenridge City Park. Bean and cornbread judging will commence at 11:30 a.m. The booth judging will be at noon.
