An annual tradition honoring those who served, the Memorial Day Ceremony will be held Monday at the Stephens County Courthouse.
The event will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25 at the courthouse at 200 W. Walker St. in Breckenridge. Names were being accepted by the Stephens County Veterans Service Officer and Stephens County through Friday, April 24.
Each year, new names are etched into the stone and the community gathers on Memorial Day for a ceremony honoring those veterans.
Election day voting will be held Tuesday in Stephens County and across the state for the primary runoff.
Early voting was held from May 18-22. Election day voting will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26.
The election day polling locations are the tower room of Clear Fork Bank at 101 E Walker St., the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church at 1601 W. Elliot St., the Stephens County Annex Building at 222 N Baylor Ave. and the bus barn of the Breckenridge ISD Support Center at 907 U.S. Hwy. 183 N.
An online survey is available through the end of May seeking community input to help guide the future of Stephens Memorial Hospital.
The 14-question online survey is available at surveymonkey.com/r/FJCJTVY until Saturday, May 30. The survey is looking for feedback on the hospital’s services, facilities and operations as well as recommendations for future improvements and endeavors.
The Breckenridge ISD Summer Feeding Program will be opening up for children at the beginning of June.
The annual free program is open to children from ages 1-18 at two BISD campuses in June.
The program is open for breakfast and lunch at the cafeterias of South Elementary at 1001 W Elliott St. and Breckenridge High School at 500 W Lindsey St. from Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 18.
Though the program is open June 1-18, it is only available each week from Monday through Thursday.

Since 2022, the city has conducted a survey of residents to receive input on how the city is performing, with the last survey available in April 2025. The most recent survey was open through Friday, May 1.
