Rosa Lee Palacio, age 64 of Weatherford, passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 7th at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Gloria Riojas officiating.

Doris Jean Harris Thompson passed from this life to glory on Nov. 3, 2020. David Wilson Thompson and Doris Jean Harris met in the Breckenridge Junior High study hall when she was in the eighth grade and he was in the ninth. They both graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1951 and 1952 before marrying at age 19 and having many happy years after that.

Burl Davis, Sr., age 84 of Breckenridge, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020. Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26 at Hart Cemetery with the Reverend Tom Moore officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25 at Morehart Mortuary.

Janice Irene Taylor, known as Gigi by her grandchildren and their friends, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020 at her home in Abilene, Texas after a brief battle with cancer.

Burl Davis, Sr., age 84 of Breckenridge, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25 at Morehart Mortuary.

Dustin Mathew Roberts passed away Friday, October 23, 2020. He was born June 24, 1970 to Frank Roberts and Debra Wilson. Dusty loved music, moving drilling rigs, watching football, and most of all hanging out with his sons and family.

Sherry O’Neal Bailey, age 71 of Haslet, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2020. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Andy Rodgers officiating. Interment followed in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held just prior to the service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Morehart Mortuary.

Gary F. Smith, 79, of Dickinson, Texas, passed away on October 9, 2020. He was born in Hollywood, Calif., on May 22, 1941, to Virgil and Anne Smith. He was married to the love of his life, Carole Smith, for 58 years. With each passing year, his love and admiration for her grew. He started in chemical engineering but moved to government affairs for the majority of his career, retiring for ARCO at the age of 50. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his collection of movies, and watching sports (especially the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks). He helped with Meals on Wheels and volunteered for the Special Olympics and the ARCO Jesse Owens Games. He also loved math and being a part of the Junior Achievement Organization and was a fellow boy scout. Gary was a lover of nature, especially eagles. He collected patriotic pins for his hats, stamps and coins, books about golf, baseball, football and movies. He helped substitute teach and was an assistant coach for girls’ basketball as well an announcer for numerous sporting events. He was also a referee for girls’ soccer and an umpire for baseball.

Gary Vick, age 64 of Aledo, formerly of Breckenridge, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16 at Morehart Mortuary Chapel. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., just prior to the service. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.
