Rena Mae Shack

Rena Mae Shack, 83, of Moran, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at Bethel Assembly with Jeff Pleasant officiating. Interment will follow in the Albany Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at Morehart Mortuary of Albany.

Aaron Art Mehaffey

Aaron Art Mehaffey, 94, of Eastland, passed away Friday, Feb. 14 in Eastland.

A funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 20 at Bethany Baptist Church, 1911 W. Walker in Breckenridge, under direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home of Breckenridge. Don Bearden will be officiating, with Denise Thompson on the organ. A private interment will be held at Breckenridge Cemetery.

Ruby Earlene Stockton

Ruby Earlene Stockton died peacefully in her sleep on February 12, 2020 after a long and happy life. She now walks with God in the company of her husband, Joseph V. Stockton; stepson, Johnny Stockton; brother, Glenn Akin; and parents, Earl T. Akin and Eula M. Akin.

Funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17 in Greenwood Chapel. The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Greenwood Chapel. Interment directly followed the funeral and a reception was held thereafter in The Live Oak Room.

Dovie Bussell- Crowley

Dovie Bussell-Crowley, 98, of Breckenridge went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2020 in Ranger, Texas. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Breckenridge Cemetery with Eddy Hooker officiating. Services have been entrusted to Melton Kitchens Funeral Home.

Nancy Harrison

Nancy Harrison, 79, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on January 23, 2020, after a lengthy struggle with vascular dementia.

Nancy was one of three daughters born to Clair Vernon Welch and Josephine Goodall, and raised in Breckenridge. Nancy was artistically gifted, often expressing her creativity through painting, sketching, sculpting, woodworking, and musical performance. She learned to play the piano as a youngster, the saxophone as a teen, and marched in Breckenridge High School’s Buckaroo Band.

Effie Mae Campbell-Boyd-Dabbs-Huffman

Effie Mae Campbell-Boyd-Dabbs-Huffman, 76, of Midland, Texas passed away Wednesday Jan. 29, 2020. Memorial services will be held in the Breckenridge Cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8.

Effie was a loving person. She is leaving behind one son (Larry Boyd) and two daughters (Sharon Burros & Belinda Taylor), 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Also, three brothers and one sister. Many may know her from Stephens Memorial Hospital at the ER check-in.

Troy H. Sloan

Troy H. Sloan, 89, of Denton, Texas, passed away on January 13, 2020, in Denton, Texas.

Troy was born in Ringgold, Texas, to Holland and Lilly Sloan on June 24, 1930.  He and his family moved to Spearman, Texas, in 1944, and he graduated from Spearman High School in 1947.

Kenneth Dwight Tribble

Kenneth Dwight Tribble, 67, of San Antonio, formerly of Breckenridge, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 at Morehart Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 at Morehart Mortuary with Dr. Genoa Goad officiating. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery, under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
