The Breckenridge Police Department has located three individuals in connection with the burglary of the Bayer-Chevrolet and Buick auto-building. The burglary occurred on Monday, August 3, and involved the theft of cash and a white 2018 Chevrolet truck.

Walker-Sayle on lockdown due to COVID-19 cases

The Walker-Sayle prison unit is currently on lockdown after a large number of inmates tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. As of Monday, August 17, the unit reported 75 individuals as active cases, with four individuals recovered, according to data from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).

The data also counts three employees as active cases, and seven employees as recovered. TDCJ data shows 244 individuals with medical restrictions at the facility and 75 individuals are medically isolated.

BHS cheerleaders hosted a successful car wash fundraiser at the United Supermarket on Sunday, August 16. The cheerleaders raised over $600 and the money raised will go toward UIL competition material and preparation.

The Texas Department of State Health Services is assisting citizens, who have tested positive for COVID-19, in need. In an attempt to decrease disease transmission, DSHS is offering a temporary lodging facility for persons diagnosed with COVID-19 who are unable to isolate at home.
