The History of the Woman Suffrage Movement in Texas

Women’s suffrage refers to women’s right to vote. It was established during the latter decades of the 19th century and early part of the 20th century. “As women received the right to vote in some places, they began running for public office and gaining positions as school board members, county clerks, state legislators, judges, and, in the case of Jeannette Rankin, as a Member of Congress.”

The Rotary Club of Breckenridge received a visit from Breckenridge Independent School District’s Director of Libraries, Abby Olson Moore. The Director of Libraries provided the group with an update on BISD’s distribution of new technology such as Chromebook to students.

BFAC opens two exhibits

The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center opened with three new exhibits. First, it is soon going to be quilt season and the 2020 Quilt Show should get everyone in the right frame of mind to dig out the quilts or work on one of their own that you have been meaning to finish. Of course, none of ours are as colorful or unique as the ones on display in the Main Gallery of the BFAC.
