The Breckenridge Rotary Club is inviting residents to pull up a chair, share a laugh and discover what service above self really looks like.
Beginning September 30, the club will host a social hour every fifth Tuesday of the month, offering a relaxed space for fellowship, unity and networking – what they’re calling “F.U.N.”
It is essentially a quarterly event as there are about four months a year that have a fifth Tuesday.
Stephens Memorial Hospital is urging residents to stay vigilant following reports of a phone scam that falsely uses the hospital’s number to solicit sensitive personal information.
According to a news release sent out by the hospital Tuesday, Sept. 16, scammers were using a tactic known as “caller ID spoofing” to make it appear as though calls were coming from the hospital.

To stay in line with laws recently updated by the 89th Texas Legislature, the Stephens County Commissioners Court recently approved an amendment to its law library budget for the purchase of new materials.

The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce shared an update last week that the Johnny Bates Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament, originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27, is being postponed until the spring of next year.
“We are making this change in hopes of encouraging greater participation from both teams and sponsors,” the Chamber said in a Facebook update Friday, Sept. 5. “The scholarships awarded through this tournament will still go to 2026 BISD graduates, just as they always have.”
