Bonita (Bonnie) Sue Harrison, 78, of Fort Worth, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on Saturday, Aug. 21 in Fort Worth.
A Memorial Service was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Hawkins Family Funeral Home.
Bobby Jerl Horry, 58, a resident of Throckmorton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10 at the Throckmorton Cemetery, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation was held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the funeral home, at 107 N Austin in Throckmorton.
Bobby Jerl Horry was born March 2, 1963 in Los Angeles, to Modina (Ash) and Jerry Horry. Bobby grew up in Woodson, lived in Stephenville, and recently moved back to the Throckmorton area. He loved playing golf, gardening, cooking and fishing.
It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs. Melinda “Lucy” Lorene Echols Sparks announces her passing after a battle with cancer, on Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the age of 73.
Melinda passed away in Austin and will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 25 years, Judge Sam Sparks, six children: Kelly, Boo, Chris, David, Scott, Rick, and their families, along with nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, stepmother Shirley, and brother Bubba.
Peggy Burrows, 89, of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at The Lighthouse Church, with Bishop W.C. Roach and Michael Roach officiating. Interment will follow in the Necessity Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14 at Morehart Mortuary.
Charlene Herren, 86, of Breckenridge, passed away Monday, Aug. 2. A memorial service for Mrs. Herren will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 at Gunsight Baptist Church. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.
Ida Morren, 81, passed away Saturday, July 31 in Frisco. Her memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at First Baptist Church in Breckenridge, with Rev. Andy Rodgers officiating. The family welcomed friends and family for visitation in the church sanctuary from 1-1:45 p.m. immediately before the memorial service.
Marvin Socol, retired business owner, private pilot, proud Class of 1947 Breckenridge Buckaroo and friend to all, passed away peacefully in his Bryan home on Wednesday, Aug. 4. He was 92.
Barbara Squyres, 91, of Breckenridge, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25 at Morehart Mortuary. Sokonthea Kong Ernest, 56, of Richardson, passed away Monday, Aug. 16. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 21 at Morehart Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held Friday, August 20 at Morehart Mortuary.
Larry Glenn Sumpter, 69, died Saturday, July 10. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 26 at Veteran’s Cemetery in Abilene, TX.
Larry was born December 27, 1951. He fought for the United States in the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver later in life and held a love of flea markets, handling horses and picnics.
