The Lady Bucks Varsity Softball team got off to a great start in their second scrimmage of the season on Tuesday, Feb. 9, against the Comanche Lady Indians by winning in a shutout, 8-0.
The four seniors from the Lady Bucks basketball team were honored after their win against the Henrietta Lady Bearcats on Feb. 2 at home. Pictured from the left are: Kylee Willis #22, Reigen Robertson #3, Nayeli Hernandez #5 and Alexis Navarro #35. Kylee played all four years of varsity basketball and three years of varsity volleyball and four years of varsity track. She is going to Abilene Christian University to study Kinesiology. Reigen plans to attend Tarleton State University and study Bio-medical Science for a Pre-Dental course of study. The Lady Bucks played their last home game on Feb. 2 against the Henrietta Lady Bearcats and won, 30-22, which gave the Lady Bucks, not only their first District win, but put them in a threeway tie for fourth place.
One of the oldest sports, dating back during ancient Greece, will have its kickoff on Feb. 25 starting at 4 p.m. at the South Elementary School Track & Field.
The Bucks played the Henrietta Bearcats Tuesday, Feb. 2 and won convincingly, 66-49. The Bucks started behind by a bucket at the end of the first quarter 12-14. Arellano had two three-pointers and two buckets and Lawson added a bucket.
Historically, the actual coronation program was handled by the yearbook staff and faculty advisers for many years. Among those who handled the coronation preparations under that system included Beatrice Moore, Helen Thomas, Marcia Harrison, Cindy Robbins and Krista Wilcox. After that, there was a group of mothers, from past coronations, who volunteered to handle the coronation preparations, which lasted about five years. After that period, the coronation reverted back to the BHS Yearbook staff and faculty advisers at BHS. This year, Krista Wilcox, from the Breckenridge Junior High School staff, returns to help with preparations along with Leah Robertson of the BHS faculty.
The Lady Bucks traveled to Jacksboro Friday, Jan.29 to play the Lady Tigers. The lady Bucks suffered a loss, 30-51.

The Breckenridge Lady Buckaroos finished second in the Thursday, January 21, Hawley Powerlifting Competition. Six Lady Buckaroos; Gemma Brashear, Avery Rogers, Aalyiah Salazar, Callie Shirley, Haigan Thompson, and Aimee Toliver were winning Buckaroos at the competition.
