The Breckenridge Junior High School boys and girls cross country teams took second place in the Holliday cross country meet on Saturday, October 17, On a tough course, the Broncos were led by Caleb Cameron on a two-mile course, the student-athlete took second place, individually at 11:40 (11 minutes and 40 seconds).
The Lady Bucks volleyball teams closed out their season Friday, Oct.23 with a loss to the Lady Jackrabbits of Bowie 25-22, 18-25 and 15-25. Their District 7-3A record was 0-10 and their overall record for the season was 4-19.
The Breckenridge High School athletics program has suspended football activity through Friday, October 30. The BISD team has canceled the Thursday, October 29, junior varsity, and the Friday, October 30 varsity football games against the Jim Ned Indians.
The Bucks and Lady Bucks cross country teams of Breckenridge High School earned top recognition at the recent Lipan Meet.
The Breckenridge Buckaroos hosted the Early Longhorns on Friday, Oct. 16, and crowned the 2020 Homecoming king and queen during a pre-game event.
The Breckenridge Buckaroos entered the Friday night, October 9 contest looking to claim the first victory of the season. The team traveled to face the Clyde Bulldogs in the first district game of the 2020 season.
The Breckenridge High School boys cross country team took place in the Dublin cross country meet on Wednesday, September 30. On a tough course, the Bucks were led by Evan Moore on a three-mile course, the student-athlete took third place, individually at 17:44 (17 minutes and 44 seconds).
With half the season in the books, remaining for the Breckenridge Buckaroo season is district play. With the Bucks in the 3-3A district, the team will battle district teams for the remainder of the season.
The Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame board of directors has decided to reschedule the 2020 induction banquet until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
