Lady Bucks lose two at home

It was not a pleasant evening for the Lady Bucks at Holder Field, in Breckenridge, as they took on two District 7 teams in a double-header. The first game with the City View Lady Mustangs was a makeup game from Friday when everybody got rained out. The second game of the double-header was against the Jacksboro Lady Tigers and was an attempt to beat the predicted very cold, inclement weather slated for Tuesday when the two teams were originally set to play.

Lady Bucks use team effort in win

Freshman, Lady Bucks pitcher, Chloe Whitmire #2, led the Lady Bucks to a (4- 0) victory over the Henrietta Lady Bearcats Tuesday, April 13. That was a must-have win in order for the Lady Bucks to keep in the running for a possible playoff spot in District 7-3A.

Bucks blast City View Mustangs

The Breckenridge Buckaroos had an outstanding game against the City View Mustangs in Iowa Park and won (18- 0). The Bucks’ bats were steaming with three runs in the first inning, three in the second, five in the third, two in the foutth and five more in the 5fifh to win, (18-0).

Breckenridge High School can be extremely proud of the boys’ and girls’ track teams who competed on a dreary weather day for the Area Track Meet on Thursday, April 15, in Dublin. Only the top four places in each event qualify to go on to the Regional Meet that is set for Abilene Christian University Friday-Saturday, April 22-23.

Candlelight for Foster kids

Judge Michael Roach will lead a special candle-lit ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 29 on the steps of the Stephens County Courthouse to honor the 20 foster children being cared for in this county. The public is cordially invited to attend.

BHS track teams compete at district meet

The Varsity Girl’s Track team competed in the District Track Meet and placed second overall with 158 points. The Varsity Boy’s Track team fought a close battle with City View for first place, but lost with 152 points overall to 157 for City View. The top four in each event qualified to go on to the Area Meet in Dublin on April 15.

Bucks drop one to new district leader

It appeared that the game was up for grabs at the end of three innings of play between the Bucks and the Holliday Eagles, with the score all tied up at (5-5). However, at that point, the wheels must have fallen off for the Bucks and the Holliday Eagles garnered three more runs in the fourth, four more were added in the fifth and four more collected in the sixth when the 10-Run Rule was applied and the Brock Eagles won, (6-16).
